1. How do I connect the device to a Samsung SmartThings/Aeotec gateway?

2. I want to use the sensor with additional water detection cables. What is the maximum supported cable length?
There is no limit to the total length of daisy-chained water detection cables.
3. Can the water detection cable be reused?
Yes, after being exposed to water, the cable can be reused once it is completely dry.
4. What is the recommended humidity range for using the water detection cable?
The recommended operating humidity is 0–80% RH (non-condensing). Excessive humidity may cause the sensor to falsely detect water.
5. Can I use a standard Type-C extension cable between two water detection cables?
Yes, you can. However, please do not use a previously soaked Type-C extension cable to charge other devices.
6. Why does the app still show the device as online even after the battery is removed?
The water leak sensor communicates with the gateway periodically to maintain its online status. If the gateway doesn't receive communication after a certain period, it will mark the device as offline.
As a battery-powered device, the sensor uses low-frequency communication to conserve power. For example, when connected to a SONOFF ZBBridge-P gateway, the device will be marked offline about 1 hour after the battery is removed. With other gateways, it may take several hours or more.
If the device is in normal use with good signal strength, you will receive a low battery warning before the battery runs out, so there's no need to worry.
